Suggested contributions for larger businesses
The challenge:
Heart of the City is a charity which provides free support to businesses that are looking to start or grow Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. We are able to deliver this free service as our primary funder, the City of London Corporation, has been committed to our cause for over a decade and remains so. However, the funding climate is now more challenging, and we are facing a funding deficit. All of our income is restricted to the delivery of our core programme with no room for additional development.
Our commitment:
We are committed to keeping our programme free in order to ensure all businesses which seek to be more responsible are enabled to do so, particularly those that would not otherwise be able to afford such support.
What we ask:
For businesses with more than 249 employees, we ask that a voluntary contribution is considered on the scale below:

The above suggested contributions do not cover the costs of providing the programme to you. Any size of donation is welcome and will allow us to improve aspects of our operations. In particular additional funding would enable us to develop capacity building projects that would improve our service including:
- New database to allow us to improve our communications with you, monitor your progress and make better referrals for support.
- An improved website that makes it easier for you to find relevant materials.
- Up to date marketing materials, which will allow us to recruit future companies and continue to encourage responsible business practice in London.
You can make a donation at any time; however we will send you a reminder at the conclusion of the programme. Businesses that are not able to make a donation are still able to benefit from our free programme, and we look forward to working with you in the development of your CSR activities.

A recent independent and anonymous review by Deloitte showed us that:
- 95% of our workshop participants rated them as good or excellent, with the remaining 5% rating them as ‘satisfactory’.
- 88% of our businesses rated our online tools and resources as good or excellent, with the remaining rating them as ‘satisfactory’.
