The four core areas of CSR: marketplace
One of the less well-known areas of CSR is Marketplace, however, it could be the most important issue in developing your business in a sustainable manner. This area involves your products, services and supply chain and the costs they impose on society and the environment.
Supplier diversity
Supplier diversity is about ensuring that supply chains are managed in an open and transparent manner, so that all types of potential suppliers have an opportunity to compete for work and contracts.
Ethical procurement
Ethical procurement is about purchasing decisions that, at a minimum, don't negatively impact the environment or society and, at a maximum, make a positive impact. This should always be done in a manner which takes into account the best cost and quality available.
Socially responsible products and services
Businesses can make the biggest impact on the society and the environment by looking at how their core services and products. This includes looking at your transparency, product and service quality, investments, marketing, how goods and services are produced and used and how customers and suppliers are treated.
