Richard Hardie, Deputy ChairmanAfter qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1975, Richard joined SG Warburg & Co. whose business is now part of UBS Investment Bank and where his last executive role was as COO in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Richard is now Chair of UBS Ltd. in London, and of The Learning Trust (TLT), Hackney’s education provider and the only not-for-profit independent Education Authority in the UK. Richard is co-led UBS's sponsorship of The Bridge Academy, Hackney, a new school for 1,150 students aged 11– 19, and is a Governor. Richard was named The Prince of Wales’ Business in the Community Ambassador for London for 2007 and is Business in the Community's London lead on education. He is closely involved in UBS’s sponsorship of the London Symphony Orchestra and its Discovery outreach programme, and is a member of Julian Lloyd-Webber's In Harmony Committee. |

Sushil Saluja
Sushil Saluja has over 20 years’ experience of consulting, outsourcing and business management across a variety of blue chip clients in Financial Services in the UK and globally. He joined British Rail in 1984 and has been at Accenture in London since 1988. He is currently Managing Director in Accenture responsible for Financial Services in UK/Ireland, with overall client and business unit management responsibilities. He is a specialist in banking and insurance; financial services strategy, technology and change management and has undertaken market-significant initiatives that cover aggressive cost reduction, two start-ups, mergers & acquisitions and organisational re-engineering/restructure. Sushil is a board member of TheCityUK (the promotion body for Financial Services in the UK) and is a board member of the Scottish Financial Enterprise, the representative body for Scotland's financial services industry. |
Liz Skelcher
Liz has initiated and developed the City of London Corporation’s comprehensive regeneration and corporate responsibility (CR) programmes. These aim to assist the regeneration of the disadvantaged areas surrounding the City, in partnership with neighbouring boroughs and other agencies, and include activity designed to celebrate and encourage community involvement by City firms. Liz's interest in CR, promoting education, employability and enterprise is reflected in her Board memberships: she is a Board member of Inspire!, The Brokerage Citylink and Innovation Warehouse. |
Kate CavelleKate Cavelle is Head of Corporate Citizenship UK and Global Coordinator of Education Programmes at Deutsche Bank. She is responsible for community development, employee programmes and impact investment. Kate has led the expansion of the Bank's community activities and of the CC UK team and is also responsible for Deutsche Bank’s sponsorship activities. Several of the Bank's UK flagship community programmes have been recognised by various awards for their innovation and effectiveness. Kate is also a trustee of the Augus Lawson Memorial Trust & Wessex Youth Trust. Prior to this, Kate worked at The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum where she delivered training initiatives on CSR and building cross-sector partnerships in Mexico, Ghana, South Africa and Central and Eastern Europe. |
Ian RodgerIan is the secretary of the Wincott Foundation. He is also the chairman of a large residents’ association and, as such, is actively involved in some difficult social issues in south Westminster. He was Head of Communications at the Financial Reporting Council, the UK's independent regulator responsible for promoting confidence in corporate reporting and governance, until 2008. He came to the UK in 1975 as a correspondent for the Toronto Globe and Mail and joined the Financial Times in 1980. Over a 25-year career at the FT, he was bureau chief in Tokyo and Zurich, international news editor and Co-Director of a recent project to bring in a state-of-the-art publishing system for FT.com and the newspaper. |
Gill Parker
BDG’s CSR agenda is something that Gill cares deeply about and has worked to hard to integrate it through her business with great success. She is Chair of Trustees Board the Whitechapel Mission – a charity that cares for the homeless of London. Through her word at BDG, Gill has gained tremendous insight in to modern business of all sizes. However, operating an SME herself, Gill understands the unique challenges faced by smaller businesses especially when it comes to Corporate Responsibility. Her background in commerce and marketing enables Gill to bring a sense of perspective along with practical advice and encouragement for productive CR programmes. |
Vicky Mirfin
Before joining Lloyd's in 2003, Vicky spent four years at Business in the Community where she was manager of the Cause Related Marketing campaign. Her time at Business in the Community also included a secondment to set up a framework for a new national employee volunteering programme for the recently merged HBOS. |
Nina KowalskaNina Kowalska is a communications specialist in the sustainability, corporate social responsibility, social enterprise and not for profit sectors. Most recently she co-founded the online activist organisation www.38degrees.org.uk. Over the last 19 years she has developed a social enterprise in the Brazilian Amazon, created award winning corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes at St Luke's Communications and worked at Business in the Community promoting the benefits of Cause Related Marketing. |
