Fiona Rawes
Director, Heart of the City
Fiona
trained and practiced as a Solicitor in the City for 5 years before moving
to the Tate to manage its record-breaking Founding Corporate Partners Programme
in the build up to the opening of Tate Modern in 2000. She then spent 4
years raising funds from the Corporate Sector for the UN Refugee Agency and
British Red Cross, concluding her work for British Red Cross with a secondment
to manage a comprehensive strategic review of their £150m+ fundraising
function nationwide.
In January 2004 she was appointed Director of Heart of the City. With her team, she has secured the participation of 240 businesses in the 'Newcomers Programme', which she conceived to help more City businesses to build effective CSR programmes. She managed the Charitable incorporation of Heart of the City and, in 2007, secured a 3 year funding deal from the LDA to expand the charity’s operations into the City fringes.
She is a Trustee of Community Links in Newham and a volunteer community panel worker for Camden Council, as part of its restorative justice programme for Young Offenders.
Sophie Hulm
Project
Manager, Heart of the City
Having
completed a Marketing degree, Sophie worked within the marketing department
for a conservation charity and two financial services firms, before moving to work
as an Employment Advisor in a 'welfare to work' organisation.
Sophie spent 3 years working with a socially disadvantaged client base, and began to take an interest in how business (via Corporate Social Responsibility) could make a difference to her clients’ chances of employment. Sophie began a Masters in Corporate Social Responsibility at London Metropolitan University and joined Heart of the City as Project Officer in April 2007. Sophie has since been promoted to Project Manager.
Natasha Honan
Project Manager, Heart of the City
After completing a degree
in Social Policy and Sociology at the University of Sheffield, Natasha worked
at the Office for National Statistics before joining the Campaigns and Policy
team at Mencap.
Natasha soon moved to Mencap’s Corporate Partnerships team where she worked with national and city based businesses in her role as Account Manager for an employment project aimed at people with a learning disability. A secondment to Mencap’s HR department followed, where Natasha’s involvement in promoting diversity to the corporate sector led to an interest in the wider issue of CSR. Natasha joined Heart of the City in January 2008.

of Kent in July 2006 with a first class honours degree in Politics, which

Georgia Symons
Team
Assistant, Heart of the City
Having graduated from the University of Bristol
in 2005 with a degree in Ancient History, Georgia spent a year working for
a local government authority before returning to university in 2006.
Whilst completing an MA in Cultural & Creative Industries at King’s College London, Georgia undertook various internships including placements in the Corporate Partnerships department at Cancer Research UK and the philanthropy team at Bloomberg.
Her interest in CSR stemmed from her postgraduate dissertation which examined how London’s financial institutions incorporate support for the Arts in their CSR strategies, allowing both parties to foster mutually beneficial relationships.
